EARLY BIRTHDAY GIFT Last night was wonderful... upon realizing that I had already spent $150.00 on the laptop analysis portion of my laptop adventure, and hearing that it was going to be an additional $600.00 to actually replace the mother board, I decided to check my original receipt to see which warranty I had purchased. One of the benefits of being obsessively detailed about my bookeeping practices is the fact that I have all of my original receipts and they're all logged and formatted so that I can easily determine where they are. You know, to my surprise and much delight, I had purchased the 2 year warranty! So that means that not only is the actual motherboard covered by the warranty, so is the service, so I was returned my original $150.00. Much better... that's the way that needed to happen in order for me to feel good about it. And thankfully, it did... though it will be away for 2 weeks getting fixed. Oh well, small price to pay considering and I'm enjoying my time here at the library where I have discovered that you get video rentals for free... or new releases for a dollar which is also a pleasant surprise. And, the library is only a block or two from the gym Tim and I work out at, so it provides for a nice start to the day. So, I'll consider that my early Birthday present, the computer fix that is, and it couldn't be a more needed fix. I think the crack in the windshield will have to wait however. I watched a Michael Moore documentary last night entitled "Roger and Me." A very good look at the GM corporation and it's effect on Flint Michigan. I recommend it. Well... 9 minutes remaining on the computer clock here... so I'm off.
